US President Donald Trump has expressed dissatisfaction with Russia’s latest assault on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, which claimed at least 12 lives.
“I’m not happy,” Trump said during a joint press briefing with Norway’s Prime Minister, reacting to the overnight missile strikes. He added a direct appeal: “Vladimir, STOP!”
Trump emphasized that the US is “putting a lot of pressure on Russia and Ukraine,” though he did not elaborate on what that pressure entails.
He also urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to “get the Peace Deal DONE!”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attacks, describing them as “difficult” and “impudent.”
Speaking briefly from South Africa, where his visit was cut short due to the escalation, Zelensky stressed that “more pressure” needs to be applied to Russia to bring about a ceasefire.
