In commemoration of the United Nations’ International Day of Tolerance on November 16, the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has honored Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara with the title of ‘Most Tolerant Governor’ in Nigeria.
A statement from Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, the International Spokesman of IAWPA, described Governor Fubara as a shining example of peace and tolerance in a nation often divided by political strife.

The statement emphasized that Fubara’s leadership has consistently upheld the values of understanding, resilience, and inclusivity, even in the face of significant opposition.
“Amidst political challenges and divisions, Governor Fubara has demonstrated remarkable resilience, fostering dialogue and cooperation among various groups,” the statement read.
“His leadership, rooted in respect and inclusivity, has not only set an example but has reinforced the crucial role of tolerance in effective governance.”

The IAWPA announced that the award will be presented to Governor Fubara at a ceremony at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Saturday, November 16, 2024, with the World Peace President, Amb. Per Stafsen, from Denmark, in attendance.
