After over 35 years of hardwork and perseverance, the long-awaited grand dedication of Sacred Heart Catholic parish, Akpugo, in Nkanu West LGA, is finally set to take place.
The edifice which is in its final stage of completion, is scheduled for dedication on Sunday, 10th November 2024, at the church premises.

The event, which will be presided over by His Lordship, Most Rev. Dr. Calistus Onaga, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, is expected to bring together eminent personalities, including government functionaries, religious leaders, and the laity.

The event will commence with a solemn Holy Mass at 10am, followed by various activities to celebrate the historic moment.
The completion of the church is a significant milestone for the enterprising people of Akpugo, Agbani Deneary and the entire Enugu Diocese.
The project has been a symbol of the people’s commitment to faith and unity over the years.
It is expected to provide a lasting place of worship, prayer, and service for generations to come.
Aside a reception for guests, the parish is expected to hold additional events to mark this important ceremony.
