Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has appointed Hon. Justice Lekan Adekanye Ogunmoye as the acting Chief Judge of the state.

The appointment, effective from November 5, 2024, follows the powers vested in the Governor under Section 271 (4) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

Justice Ogunmoye succeeds the late Hon. Justice John Oyewole Adeyeye, who passed away on November 4, 2024.

A distinguished legal professional, Justice Ogunmoye was called to the Bar in 1987 and appointed as a judge on April 1, 2010.

In a statement, the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, conveyed Oyebanji’s best wishes for a successful tenure to the newly appointed acting Chief Judge.
