A youth group, Progressive Youths for Makinde’s Presidency 2027, has officially endorsed Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as their preferred candidate for the 2027 presidential election, citing his leadership and the significant progress made under his administration.
The group, in a letter to the governor, expressed its admiration for Makinde’s achievements and leadership, emphasizing his transformative work in Oyo State.
National Convener of the initiative, Prince Christopher Odianarewo, highlighted several sectors where the governor has made a profound impact.
“Under your leadership, Oyo State has seen remarkable progress in health, education, infrastructure, agriculture, and security. These are not just policies, but the foundation of a better, more prosperous society,” Odianarewo stated.
The group lauded Makinde’s contributions to the health sector, particularly his efforts to ensure accessible healthcare for all.
They pointed to the renovation of hospitals and clinics, as well as investments in medical personnel training, as evidence of his dedication to improving the quality of life in the state.
Odianarewo also praised Makinde’s swift and effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic, calling it “exemplary leadership that has saved countless lives,” while also acknowledging the governor’s focus on enhancing education.
“Your investments in education, from infrastructural upgrades to curriculum improvements, have empowered the youth and positioned them for success both locally and internationally,” he added.
In addition, the initiative recognized Makinde’s efforts to provide scholarships and support programs to talented students, further supporting his commitment to nurturing future leaders.
The group also commended Makinde’s work in improving social amenities, including the rehabilitation of roads and the provision of clean water.
These efforts, according to Odianarewo, have significantly improved living conditions and overall well-being for Oyo State residents.
On the agricultural front, Odianarewo praised the governor’s focus on boosting local production and supporting farmers, calling it key to enhancing food security, creating jobs, and fostering economic growth.
