The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a businessman for attempting to smuggle a large amount of cocaine by ingesting it.
Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, confirmed the arrest on Sunday through a post on his X account, which included a video showing the seized drugs.
The suspect, whose identity has not been revealed, allegedly swallowed the cocaine in an effort to bypass security checks. Babafemi warned against such illegal actions, writing, “Detty December: Before you swallow those drugs, please remember that the new @ndlea_nigeria has the capacity and capability to catch you.”
He further cautioned, “The businessman who excreted this cocaine will not only spend Christmas in jail but could face a life sentence after his trial. Be warned!”
