The National Assembly has refuted reports claiming that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be presenting the 2025 Budget proposal to a joint session of the National Assembly on Wednesday, November 27, 2024.

A statement issued by the National Assembly’s Director of Information, Audu Bullah Biallah, on behalf of the Secretary of Research and Information, clarified that the 2024-2026 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF&FSP) had not yet been approved by both chambers of the National Assembly.

Approval of the MTEF&FSP is a prerequisite for the official presentation of the 2025 budget.

The statement also addressed false claims attributed to Dr. Ali Barde Umoru, the Secretary, Research and Information, warning against spreading such misinformation.

The National Assembly emphasized that any inquiries or clarifications on official matters should be made through the proper communication channels.

The Secretary further urged the public to disregard the inaccurate reports and refrain from misleading information.
