Former U.S. President Bill Clinton was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday, one day after being admitted with a fever.
His office confirmed the news, stating that the 78-year-old Clinton had been treated for the flu.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, Angel Urena, expressed gratitude for the medical care the former president received at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
Urena also thanked those who had sent messages of support to Clinton and his family.
Clinton, who served as president from 1993 to 2001, has faced several health issues in recent years.
He was previously hospitalized in October 2021 for a blood infection, and in 2004, he underwent a quadruple bypass surgery due to heart disease, which led him to adopt a healthier lifestyle, including a vegetarian diet.
In November 2022, Clinton made headlines again after testing positive for COVID-19.
Despite these health challenges, Clinton has remained active in various diplomatic and humanitarian efforts since leaving office.
At 78, Clinton is the second-youngest living U.S. president, following Barack Obama, who is 63.
