Labour unions in Ogun State, including the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Joint Negotiation Committee (JNC), have expressed their appreciation to Governor Dapo Abiodun for approving a Christmas bonus for state workers, hailing him as a compassionate leader dedicated to the welfare of his employees.
In separate letters of gratitude to the governor, both unions commended the gesture, which they described as a clear indication of Abiodun’s commitment to the well-being of the state’s workforce.
Comrade Akeem Lasisi, Chairman of the Ogun State TUC, expressed in his letter that the Christmas bonus would significantly help workers cope with the current economic difficulties.
“This gesture was not unexpected, as we are all aware of the compassionate leadership His Excellency demonstrates,” Lasisi wrote.
He added, “The bonus payment further solidifies the current administration’s reputation for effecting positive changes. It will certainly ease the daily financial burdens faced by our workforce and their families. We are grateful for this unexpected show of care, which will inspire our colleagues to continue working towards the progress of our state.”
Lasisi concluded by offering the TUC’s heartfelt gratitude, loyalty, and continued support for the governor’s administration.
Comrade Olude Isa, Chairman of the JNC, also expressed appreciation for the bonus, stating that it would enable state workers to have a joyful and fulfilling Christmas celebration.
“We received the payment with great joy and confidence, knowing that we are part of the larger community of stakeholders in Ogun State,” Isa said.
“This timely gesture is deeply appreciated.”
Isa also wished Governor Abiodun and his cabinet continued strength and success in their efforts to propel the state to greater heights, adding, “May the spirit of Christmas always be with His Excellency, and may his cabinet continue to be guided in their pursuit of progress for our state.”
