Felix Morka, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has revealed that both he and his family members have been targets of numerous death threats after his remarks about Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Morka reported receiving over 400 threats, including more than 200 explicit death threats, following a statement where Obi accused him of making life-threatening comments.

“I have documented over 400 threats, including more than 200 death threats,” Morka explained.

“These are not just vague threats, but explicit messages with details about how I will be harmed shooting, beheading, and other graphic descriptions. Some threats have even extended to my family.”

The controversy began after Morka criticized Obi for his comments about President Bola Tinubu, suggesting that Obi had crossed several lines in his criticisms.

Obi responded by accusing Morka’s statements as threats to his life, which led the Labour Party to issue a seven-day ultimatum for President Tinubu to address Morka’s comments.

Morka, however, denied any intention to threaten Obi and rejected the allegations.

“This entire situation is unfounded. I did not threaten Peter Obi. Those making these threats are acting independently, and I trust law enforcement will hold them accountable.”

Morka also challenged Obi to provide evidence of the threats he claims to have received, saying, “If Obi has been threatened, he should present proof. A person of his stature should be able to show evidence of such threats. If there were real threats against him, law enforcement should be involved, not a media conversation.”
