There are strong indications that Senator Ned Nwoko, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriation, is preparing to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Though Nwoko has yet to make a formal announcement, he gave a brief response when contacted on the matter, simply saying, “soon.”

The Delta North senator, known for his outspoken criticism of Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is reportedly considering joining APC to align with his predecessor, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, amid growing tensions with PDP leadership in the state.

Sources also suggest that Nwoko’s decision to leave the PDP is influenced by plans from the immediate past Governor of Delta, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, who intends to return to the Senate in 2027 under the PDP banner.
