Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has pledged that the people of Edo State will give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu 100 percent of their votes in the 2027 presidential election, citing his dedication to the welfare of vulnerable individuals in the state.

Okpebholo made this statement on Monday during his goodwill address at the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) social investment program and food outreach event held at the New Festival Hall in Benin City, Edo State.

The outreach, which began on March 8, 2024, has so far reached seven states, including Kano, Benue, Nassarawa, Ekiti, Cross River, Gombe, and Edo. Upcoming beneficiaries include Kwara, Kogi, and Abia states.

The governor praised Nigeria’s First Lady and National Chairperson of RHI, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her maternal role in ensuring Nigerians benefit from the dividends of democracy.

He emphasized that the success of the initiative is due in large part to the support from President Tinubu, reinforcing his pledge of support for the president’s re-election in 2027.

“We are witnessing a new dawn in Edo State, with the people enjoying the benefits of this initiative. Look at all these food items here today; it is all thanks to the efforts of the President and his wife. On behalf of the people of Edo, we assure you, Mr. President, of our 100 percent support in 2027, and if possible, we will give you even more,” Okpebholo declared.

In her remarks, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by Nigeria’s First Lady Hajia Nana Shettima, shared that the food outreach has already impacted seven states and will expand to additional states soon.

She emphasized the initiative’s positive effects on women and youth, encouraging beneficiaries to make good use of the food and not sell it.

“We have reached seven states so far, and more will follow. This initiative aims to support women and youth, enhancing their livelihoods. It complements the renewed hope agenda of President Tinubu’s administration, which will also expand into areas such as education, health, economic empowerment, and agriculture,” she said.

Edo State’s First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Anani Okpebholo, also expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her impactful initiative, which has benefitted millions in less than two years.

She assured that the vulnerable in Edo will continue to receive support and thanked Governor Okpebholo for his strong backing of the RHI programs, which have already made significant strides in the state.
