The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended a 35-year-old man, Idowu Kehinde, for allegedly stealing ceiling fans and aluminium windows from a mosque in the Adiyan area of Agbado, Ogun State.
Kehinde reportedly scaled the fence of Mapara Moboluwaduro Central Mosque and carted away eight ceiling fans and four aluminium windows, valued at ₦520,000.
Confirming the arrest on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, stated that the suspect admitted to selling the stolen items to a buyer identified as Awal Yusuf.

She further disclosed that police operatives recovered a bag containing aluminium window frames and that the suspect would soon be arraigned at the Ojodu Abiodun Magistrate Court.
“The suspect has been arrested and interrogated, where he confessed to selling the stolen items to one Awal Yusuf, 31. A bag containing aluminium frames has been recovered, and he will be charged to court shortly,” she added.
This incident follows a similar case reported days earlier, where the Ogun State Police arrested a 16-year-old boy, Ademola Bolu, for allegedly stealing aluminium roofing sheets worth ₦180,000 from Christ Light Deliverance Ministry Church in Orile-Ilugun, Odeda Local Government Area.
Bolu and two accomplices, who are still on the run, were caught with two sacks containing the stolen roofing sheets, which had been cut into smaller pieces for easy transport.
