Engr. Udengs Eradiri, the Labour Party’s (LP) candidate in the last Bayelsa State governorship election, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s numerous developmental projects in his Agudiama/Ekpetiama community as a key motivation for his defection.

Eradiri, who registered as an APC member in Ward 10, Constituency 2, Yenagoa Local Government Area, said his community has benefited immensely from federal government projects executed through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) under the leadership of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku.

These projects include potable water supply, shore protection, solar streetlights, and a one-kilometer road.

Beyond his immediate community, Eradiri noted that several other Niger Delta communities had witnessed similar infrastructural interventions, particularly through the ongoing “Light-Up Niger Delta” initiative and other NDDC programs.

He also revealed that the federal government had committed to additional projects in his community, including the remodeling of a secondary school and the construction of a quality lodge for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.

Addressing a large gathering of APC supporters and community members, Eradiri praised the Tinubu administration for fostering peace and infrastructural development in the Niger Delta through initiatives like Tantita Security Services and NDDC-backed projects.

He highlighted Tinubu’s commitment to the region, citing the President’s recent assent to the Maritime University Bill and the University of Technology and Environment Bill for Ogoniland.

He also applauded the accelerated pace of work on the East-West Road, attributing its progress to the leadership of Works Minister, Dr. Dave Umahi.

Eradiri emphasized that Tinubu’s administration had provided strategic appointments to the Niger Delta, including the Head of Service, the Ministry of Petroleum, and key roles in the NDDC.

He credited the federal government’s pipeline surveillance contracts with boosting oil production and reducing criminal activities in the region.

“For me, the best way to appreciate a government that is delivering tangible results is to join hands with it,” Eradiri stated.

“President Tinubu has always been an advocate for restructuring Nigeria, and I have admired his leadership since my youth. Now is the right time to work with him to drive progress.”

He commended the Tinubu administration’s tax reforms, stating that they would encourage economic innovation and improve governance at the state and local levels.

He urged his supporters and stakeholders in the Niger Delta to align with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda for national development.

Eradiri expressed his commitment to strengthening the APC in Bayelsa State and working with party leaders to ensure the success of the Tinubu administration’s policies.
