President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF).
Mrs. Walson-Jack will officially assume her role on August 14, succeeding Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, who will retire on August 13.

Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced the appointment in a statement, highlighting Mrs. Walson-Jack’s extensive experience and accomplishments as a seasoned civil servant.
Since her appointment as a permanent secretary in 2017, Mrs. Walson-Jack has served in various ministries, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.
The statement from the presidency read: “President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, OON, as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 14, 2024. Mrs. Walson-Jack, who was appointed as a federal permanent secretary in 2017, has served in several ministries, demonstrating her capability and commitment to public service.”
President Tinubu expressed his gratitude to the outgoing HoCSF, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, for her dedication and service.
He also charged the incoming head to bring innovative ideas, maintain integrity, and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations governing the civil service.
