Patience Umo Eno, the wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Bassey Eno, has died.
The sad news was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a statement released on Friday.
While the cause of her death has not been revealed, the Commissioner noted that she passed away on Thursday, surrounded by her family.
“With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of the wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, after a brief illness. She passed away peacefully on the 26th of September, 2024, in the company of her loved ones,” the statement read.
The family has expressed their submission to the will of God and requested prayers and support from well-wishers during this difficult time.
The Commissioner also asked for privacy as the family mourns their wife, mother, and grandmother.
