Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has suspended Auwalu Dalladi Sankara from his role as Commissioner for the Ministry of Special Duties and as a member of the State Executive Council.

This suspension comes as an investigation is launched into allegations made by the Kano State Hisbah.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Jigawa State, Malam Bala Ibrahim, and shared with reporters in Dutse, the state capital.

The statement indicated that the decision was prompted by serious claims that require a comprehensive investigation to ensure transparency and maintain the integrity of the state administration.

Malam Ibrahim emphasized the governor’s commitment to accountability and ethical governance, stating, “The suspension is a precautionary measure intended to facilitate a fair investigation.”

He affirmed the government’s seriousness in addressing all allegations and its dedication to preserving the trust of Jigawa’s citizens.

But the suspended commissioner, Sankara, refuted the allegations.

In a statement released late Friday, he described the claims as false, baseless, and malicious, asserting that they are intended to damage his reputation.

Sankara urged the public to dismiss what he referred to as a fabricated narrative created by certain political adversaries aiming to undermine his character and integrity.

“As a married man, I have the utmost respect for the institution of marriage and would never engage in actions that compromise its sanctity. I remain committed to the values and principles I uphold,” he stated.

He also announced his intention to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading the false accusations.

“I am taking this matter seriously and will seek justice against those disseminating this misinformation and attempting to tarnish my character,” he added.
