The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that it will begin the Computer-Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CBWASSCE) for private candidates starting October 25, 2024.
This new examination format will run until December 20, 2024, according to a statement released on Tuesday.
The upcoming exam will feature a hybrid format, where objective or multiple-choice questions will be presented on-screen, requiring candidates to respond directly on the computer.

Essay and practical questions will also appear on-screen, but candidates must provide their answers in the traditional answer booklets supplied by WAEC.
For candidates who prefer the conventional approach, the council has maintained an option for a full Paper and Pen mode for all examination sections.
WAEC also announced an extension for registration, which will now close on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.
