US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris expressed her belief that the country is ready to elect its first female president.
Harris made the comments on Tuesday while attending an event at Divine Faith Ministries International in Jonesboro, Georgia, where she joined singer Stevie Wonder on stage.
With the election just two weeks away, Harris emphasized her campaign’s focus on moving forward from what she described as a nation “exhausted” by the leadership style of former President Donald Trump.

In a national NBC interview, Harris affirmed that the US was “absolutely” prepared to elect a woman to the presidency.
However, she played down the historic nature of her candidacy, stating her priority was to “turn the page” and address the fatigue many Americans feel after years of political turmoil.
“People are tired of Donald Trump’s self-centered approach,” she said, framing her campaign as one centered on renewal and change.
Meanwhile, Trump, campaigning in North Carolina, offered a starkly different message to his supporters.

He framed the election as a choice between continued “incompetence and failure” or a new era of prosperity under his leadership, promising what he called “the four greatest years in the history of our country.”
During his rally, Trump repeatedly attacked Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, labeling them as “stupid.”
The race, now at a crucial stage, is marred by heightened tensions, with concerns about potential unrest and Trump’s refusal to commit to accepting the election results if he loses.

Harris stated that her campaign was prepared for any scenario, including the possibility of Trump declaring victory before all the votes are counted, a process that could take days.
Harris has also gained prominent support from well-known figures.
In September, she joined Oprah Winfrey at a “Unite for America” rally in Farmington Hills, Michigan, as part of a broader effort to galvanize voters.
On the campaign trail, President Joe Biden, who has been less visible in Harris’s campaign, made headlines by echoing Trump’s 2016 slogan against Hillary Clinton.

During a stop in New Hampshire, Biden stated, “We got to lock him up — politically lock him up,” in a clear jab at Trump, who is currently dealing with multiple legal challenges while running for office.
The Trump camp responded swiftly, accusing the Biden-Harris team of pursuing a strategy to “politically persecute their opponent” through ongoing investigations.
With both campaigns making their final push in key swing states, the outcome remains uncertain, as polls suggest a tight race between Harris and Trump, each vying for an edge in a deeply divided electorate.
