In a violent incident in Katsina State, gunmen ambushed police officers in the ‘Yar Tsamiyar Jino area of Kankara local government, resulting in the deaths of four officers.
A source, who wished to remain anonymous, reported that after the attack, the assailants set fire to the officers’ operational vehicle.
Initially, the gunmen had planned to target travelers en route to Kankara Market from the Mai Dabino area.

However, locals were alerted to the threat and avoided the area, prompting the attackers to change their target to the ‘Yar Tsamiyar Jino village, where they carried out the fatal ambush.
As of the time of this report, there has been no official response from the Katsina State Police Command regarding the attack.
