Aggrieved youths of Obiagu in Enugu metropolis have taken to the streets, blocking major roads in protest against the killing of popular traditional Ogene musician, Okezie Mba, widely known as “Igbo-Jah,” by a police inspector.

The incident, which occurred on Friday evening at the Anti-Cultism Tactical Squad Headquarters, has sparked widespread outrage both within and outside Enugu.

DAILY GAZETTE reports that the Enugu State Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that the inspector involved has been arrested.

In response to the tragic news, Obiagu youths gathered early Saturday, burning tires and setting up blockades along major roads.

Our correspondent gathered that the youths chanting “Justice for Igbo-Jah”, expressed frustration over repeated incidents of police aggression against residents.
