Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest airline, has dismissed circulating rumors suggesting a plan to double its one-way ticket prices from Lagos to Abuja.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the airline emphasized that these claims are unfounded and did not come from their official channels.
“We would like to categorically state that this information is false and did not originate from Air Peace,” the airline stated.
“We have not issued any official announcement regarding a fare increase, and any updates on pricing will be communicated through our verified platforms. We encourage our valued customers to rely exclusively on these sources for accurate fare information.”
The rumors, which emerged last week, alleged that ticket prices for a one-way flight from Lagos to Abuja would increase to ₦200,000 starting November 1, 2024.
This sparked concern among many Nigerians, some of whom have already sought alternative travel options due to rising airfare costs.
