The Senate is set to screen the ministerial nominees submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today, following their clearance by the Department of State Services (DSS).
This screening comes after President Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle, which involved the dismissal of six ministers and the appointment of seven new nominees. Additionally, ten ministers had their portfolios swapped.

In preparation for the screening, the nominees flocked to the office of Senator Basheer Lado, the Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters, to submit their resumes ahead of the deadline.
Senator Lado confirmed in a statement that the documentation for the nominees is underway in anticipation of their screening at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
The nominees scheduled for screening today include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi for Labour and Employment, and Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu for Foreign Affairs – State.
Also appearing are Dr. Jumoke Oduwole for Industry, Trade and Development; Idi Muktar Maiha for Livestock Development; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata for Housing – State; and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad for Education – State.
